I hope all of you find yourselves having a wonderful week so far!\u00a0 This time of year is always a good one for me because it’s typically my slower season.\u00a0 It’s a time for me to catch up on long neglected tasks and to focus on album design projects.\u00a0 Last week I went through and totally cleared out my master bedroom, closet, and bath.\u00a0 It feels so good to donate unused items and just get my home in a more minimal state.\u00a0 About 2 years ago, I got hooked on the Kon Mari method that has kind of become this big movement based on the book, “The Magical Joy of Tidying Up” by Marie Kondo.\u00a0 I’m not into cleaning books, but when I saw that this book made it to the New York Time’s best seller list, I was intrigued.\u00a0 Now let me say this about reading the book, I finished it in a little over a week.\u00a0 I have never read any kind of self help book that quickly!\u00a0 It was strange and there were weird parts, like when she tells you to cover the eyes of stuffed animals as you dispose of them (seriously weird right?).\u00a0 That said, because there were some strange suggestions, I felt like I had to keep reading.\u00a0 At the end of the book, she basically promises that the Kon Mari method will change your life.\u00a0 So, I am still doing the Kon Mari method which means, I do believe in it!\u00a0 If you are looking for a useful method to start the new year more minimal and purposeful, then I highly recommend it.\u00a0 It shocked me how much stuff I was able to get rid of and didn’t need or even want.\u00a0 And as weird as her suggestions are, e.g., to hold an item in your hands and ask out loud if it brings you joy, it works!<\/p>\n

Now onto the real reason for posting today!\u00a0 I wanted to share with you John and Lina’s wedding at Silverbrook Farm in Purcellville, Virginia.\u00a0 There are so many reasons to love this wedding, and aside from the obviously good taste of Lina and John, what I loved about their wedding was their emphasis on only having their closest family and friends in attendance.\u00a0 It was one of my most intimate weddings this year!\u00a0 It can be easy to feel pressured into having a large guest count, especially if it’s coming from your parents, but friends let me tell you something, these intimate sweet weddings are some of the most heartfelt I’ve ever been to.\u00a0 If you are inclined to have a smaller wedding, there’s nothing wrong with that at all.<\/p>\n

I loved that Lina had handmade water colored cards she gave to her future children (John’s kids).\u00a0 Their children also served as their bridal party, which was also so sweet.\u00a0 Dot, the venue owner at Silverbrook, gave the best wedding blessings and advice.\u00a0 Blue Water Kitchen, catered the event and you guys, their food is always perfection…. always!\u00a0 I love their catering service.\u00a0 Go check them out if you like good food, which is hopefully all of you!\u00a0 And lastly, the bride had her florals done at Wegmans in Ashburn.\u00a0 I was floored by how beautiful they were!\u00a0 It was just the perfect day.\u00a0 I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!<\/p>\n
