<\/p>\nIt’s that time of year when the cherry blossoms in Washington D.C. are starting to emerge and everyone is looking to take their best photos along the tidal basin. \u00a0It’s true that the cherry blossoms are a sight to behold and if’ you’ve never been to see them in Washington D.C., then I suggest you make the time to go into the city and see what all the fuss is about! \u00a0My favorite web site to reference for peak bloom times is, www.cherryblossomwatch.com. \u00a0He’s a local photographer that takes the time to photograph the blossoms at their various stages and predicts the best time to go see the blooms. \u00a0I refer to this every single year.<\/p>\n
Now to all the couples out there doing cherry blossom engagement photos, there are a few things to keep in mind as you are taking photos. \u00a0The first one is to be patient. \u00a0Some spots along the tidal basin will literally have lines formed to take turns under a certain tree. \u00a0This is just par for the course and being patient for that perfect shot is worth it in the end. \u00a0Knowing this ahead of time will help you manage your expectations for the shoot time. \u00a0The second tip is to bring a warm coat! \u00a0So often it looks warm outside, but along the water at the tidal basin, it’s actually a few degrees cooler and it’s a good idea to be prepared, even if it looks warm outside. Third, photographing in the morning time tends to give you the least amount of people in your shots. \u00a0It’s hard to get photos without people in them at this time of year, so keep that in mind. \u00a0Fourth, it can be a little windy along the tidal basin so make sure your hair is styled such that you won’t be upset if it gets a little windswept. \u00a0Those are my best tips for photographing along the tidal basin. \u00a0Happy Spring!!<\/p>\n
