I have been wanting to do a flower post for so long and now that floral shops are in full design mode with the upcoming wedding season, I thought it would be good to highlight some aspects of how flowers will affect your wedding day photography.\u00a0 I hate to make it sound so serious but to me it really is a serious matter.\u00a0 Flowers have the power to make or brake your wedding images.\u00a0 They can either set the tone for a wonderful day, or they can completely dash all joy to pieces if they are terrible.\u00a0 I know it seems a bit dramatic and even though I love drama on the stage, I don’t love it on the wedding day when all I really want is for my brides to be completely happy and at ease.<\/p>\n

This last year one of my brides had a bad experience with her florist. The flowers arrived all wilted and not only that, they were so sparse, they barely filled the vases they were in.\u00a0 My bride is the kindest person and not one to complain but it was so bad that the venue stepped in and helped her by fixing the centerpieces.\u00a0 That was all very nice of the venue to help her out, but they sent her a bill later for the added cost of additional flowers and labor.\u00a0 My point to all of this is that it always pays to know who you are dealing with and the quality of their work.\u00a0 That’s why if at all possible, I try to connect my brides with vendors I have worked with personally because I want to avoid potential mishaps on the wedding day.\u00a0 Also, I know that having gorgeous flowers will impact the beauty of your wedding photography.\u00a0 Sometimes bride’s will say, “I hate to spend too much money on something that is just going to die.”\u00a0 The problem with that thinking is that photographs will tell the story of your wedding day, flowers and all, and those photos will never die.<\/p>\n

P.S.\u00a0 A secret wish of mine would be to photograph a bride with a flower crown.\u00a0 How pretty would that be?<\/p>\n

This winter combination was done by Event Studio<\/span><\/a><\/span>.\u00a0 I love the mercury glass in the arrangement and the dusty miller in the bouquet is so feminine.<\/p>\n

These lovelies came from Holly Chapple<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0 who has been doing flowers for 20 years.\u00a0 These flowers came from her own garden. \u00a0 I love how the bride wanted a more bohemian look to her wedding and achieved it by doing flowers in the hair.<\/p>\n

\"\"Not sure who did this bouquet but I got to photograph it for another project in progress and I love the detail on the wrapping.<\/p>\n

So as you can see from the photos, the flowers are so striking and beautiful.\u00a0 It’s so important to get a great floral vendor for\u00a0 your wedding day.\u00a0 If you don’t have one yet and your wedding is this year, you need to get on it right away!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
