This family popped on over to my place for a country session. You know I said this in my last blog that I love winter sessions, and after doing this one I realized even more that they really are beautiful in their own way. I love that the trees are dramatic without their leaves. It makes a very beautiful backdrop and I think I want to do family portraits with the leaves off.
I also loved that this family was fun to work with. The boys were so playful and good subjects. And the parents were so engaging with their children and it was truly a delight to watch. I am so glad they will always have these photos to remember this stage in their family life. Aren’t these boys just beautiful! The photographer has a good eye and technique. I like the choices of when to allow depth of field and when to keep the focus on the main elements. The positions of the subjects in the “flying boys” frame is perfect, right down to the location of the dog.

What beautiful pictures. The photographer has a special way to bring out the best in all her subjects, but these brothers are precious. I’m sure that the field in the background is perfect in every season. I especially like the one of the older boy closeup (it’s one as a teenager he won’t mind you showing!).
